TUESDAY
We cut over from the 5 to the 101 and are headed north toward the giant redwoods. We’ve been passing through some of the most beautiful scenery ever – the rolling hills of California’s wine country. The weather is overcast and misty. There are all sorts of trees, and the rolling hills are as green as can be. We are surrounded by beauty.
QUOTES OF THE DAY:
“These rolling hills would be considered giant mountains in Texas.” – Adam
“These are innocent marshes. Not like the marshes in Florida, where an anaconda might kill you, or the marshes in Texas where you might die of a rattlesnake bite. There are the way marshes were meant to be.”
“Something about this just feels RIGHT.” – Adam
“Wait a second, is this how the NW always smells?!” – Samuel (remembering the crisp, fresh smell of the trees and the rain)
“’But California’s got nothing on Colorado.”
“My mouth needs to throw up.” – Matea
“I only like California when we’re at Grandmother’s.” – Elijah
“Are we in Oregon yet?” – Isaac
