We had a week of giving thanks here - thanks for family, friends, food, and leisure time. Samuel had the whole week off from school, and my dad came into town for the holiday. We all had a busy week together full of many shared meals, games, football, movies and coffees.
The week hit a lowpoint on Tuesday, when all (yes, all) of the following unfolded before dinnertime:
1) The water heater burst.
2) The master bedroom closet became completely water damaged, ruining the flooring.
3) Found out my house is not up to code as plumber was installing new water heater.
4) All of the above led me to be late getting kids ready for Adam's work's holiday party, and
5) As I was ready to walk out the door, realized all 3 of my boys got distracted by the mud pit left by broken, draining, aforementioned water heater and were covered from head to toes in mud.
6) Elijah swallowed a penny. Begin poop patrol.
7) Vacuum cleaner broke.
When it rains, it pours.
Thankfully, that day only lasted 24 hours.
The rest of the week was good. Busy, but good. We had Thanksgiving dinner here at my house and I'm still getting caught up with laundry and cleaning. I am so looking forward to this week. Honeydo and Big Dave are coming into town, and this weekend Matea will be dedicated at church! On top of that, we've got a couple of promising social events on the calender, and I've got almost all of my Christmas shopping done. Yeah, December!
