Yesterday we started our day off with a Zimel church service in a coffee shop, then we made our way South to see the financial district and ground zero. We hooked up with Ape and Kris, saw both of their apartments, then went to the Human Body exhibit, which was amazing. We are so intricately made, it seems like it would be difficult to not believe in a Creator after seeing that sort of exhibit.
Oh, Adam finally got to eat a Grimaldi's pizza. It was so good. And the guy sold it to him for $12 instead of $20 or however much it was, out of pity. Adam didn't know it was a cash only joint.
We ate dinner at the very famous and ritzy Tavern on the Green with April and Kristen. It was quite the culinary experience. We celebrated Adam's birthday again with a cake that Adam's mom had had made that said "You're Old, Son," on the top.
This morning we started off with a bicycle tour of Central Park in the freezing cold weather. I was so grateful to be riding and not walking. I am not made for this weather (thankfully Ape has rescued me with some warmer clothes, but cold weather is still cold, even in a warm coat). Now we're off to buy gifts for the kids and stop by Bloomingdales to see April at work. We leave this evening and are back to the warm sunshine of Austin at 10 p.m. tonight (well, it won't be warm sunshine at that point, but I bet even at 10 pm the temperature will be higher than the 13* it was during daylight this morning).
We're off. It's been such a good trip; such a good time with my wonderful husband and we're so grateful to have had this time together. It definitely won't be 7 years before we do this again!
