We could have used this how-to on the Texas Two-Step last night. Or some information on Texas Swing. Anyhow, we had a blast at the Exotic Game Ranch last night. The first thought that crossed my mind as we drove through the gate was, "we can't tell Jesse about this place."
As the band started playing and couples started dancing we realized that these dances were way out of our (albeit small) realm of experience. When we politely asked someone at our table what dances we were seeing, we got the playfully sharp reply, "There's only one dance - the Texas Two-Step!" Another funny quote from the night was when a very nice woman was telling me about dancing with her daughter. She said that here in Texas it's common for women to dance with each other "in a nice way...not in an Oregon way." So there you have it folks, we have our stereotypes, they have theirs!
Wrapping my green-Oregon-hippie-wannabe brain around the Texas culture never ceases to amuse me!

I'm excited for Thursday! :) It will be fun to see the "Portland" of the South. ;) I'm sure it will be an experience!!
