The month of December

All of us at the Ice Festival in Kissimmee, FL
Our month began with what will be an annual tradition - a trip to the Gaylord Palms resort in Kissimme, FL for the Ice Festival. This is the second year that we taken this "grandkids" trip with the Kampfes. While there, we experienced the Medieval Times dinner, built gingerbread houses, and explored the Ice, which was even bigger and better than last year (the picture of us in the blue parkas was taken next to part of the 2 million pounds of sculpted ice). In between activities we enjoyed the accomodations of the Gaylord Palms, which has to be one of the coolest resorts ever built, with its swampy trails, resident gators and delicious themed restaurants.
The week after the Ice we focused on packing our things up and preparing to leave. Adam, Samuel and Lucca drove our car to Texas in one long day. I, along with Elijah and Isaac, hopped on a plane to Austin to save room in the car for all our boxes. It was a bittersweet mix of emotion, as we left the place we had envisioned being (and the people we had envisioned being with) and prepared our hearts in anticipation of the different place God has opened for us.
Right away we began searching for houses, and found a wonderful one within a week. We are in the process of closing as I type, and set to move in January 13th. Our new address will be:
1 Meadow Way
Round Rock, TX 78664
Currently Adam is interviewing with several different firms out here, as well as beginning the tedious process of studying for his Texas license. Samuel is set to begin 1st grade at Forest Creek Elementary on January 4th. We're working on meeting some kids from the neighborhood before then so it's not quite so scary on the first day. My brother Jesse will be driving here to spend Christmas with us, and we are all eagerly anticipating spending time with him.
