Legoland - part II

LEGOLAND

Oh my goodness, to think of the time and effort that went into creating this park is incredible. What a dream come true for my little boy Lego lovers! The boys enjoyed a handful of rides together, although we found that we split up a lot to accommodate Samuel and Elijah’s different interests (and heights – Lije was too short for some of the kiddie rollercoasters). But they did find several things to do together, and the beauty of that was that on all of those rides they could go by themselves. Samuel was so good about watching out for Lije, helping him on and off rides, and being his buddy. Adam and I got to sit back, watch them and take pictures. And since it was a slow Monday afternoon, this arrangement worked pretty well. Samuel found a couple of rides he loved, even though he’s sort of a rollercoaster connoisseur, and these rides were pretty mild. To spice things up he kept his hands up the duration of the coasters. Elijah enjoyed the water play area’s fountain, as well as the rides that had to do with fire trucks and helicopters. He only melted down a few times (but at this point, that’s expected.) We got to see a show with that famous ventriloquist who was on America’s Got Talent. He was really incredible. The rest of that evening was sort of a nightmare. Our GPS system broke, we pushed it too hard with the boys, considering it had already been a long day for them, and we spent way too long trying to find a place to eat and sleep. It is during these times that you can feel the tension in the air of our motorhome, and you just know that someone’s going to loose it soon (Samuel, Elijah, me, whomever). Fortunately those times have been few and far between!

SIDE NOTE (acquainting you with the ins and outs of RVing) (Adam): I am officially endorsing the Magellan GPS system. When you don’t know where you’re going, a GPS system is PRICELESS. As experienced today, navigating in a foreign city without our Magellan Roadmate 700 (our unit stopped working yesterday) created an extra one and a half hours of driving and five frustrated Zimels. Our Magellan has truly been a blessing, from the turn-by-turn voice commands, to the restaurant locating feature. Today our crisis hit a turning point when we decided to buy another system. Our new Magellan Roadmate 2000 was a good purchase. A GPS is definitely worth it for the navigationally challenged, or those driving in an unfamiliar city.

QUOTES OF THE DAY:
“I look so cute today.” – Elijah
“BBBbbbbbbbbbbbbb!” - Isaac
