Packing

The last time we packed up our house, we had 6-year-old Samuel, 2-year-old Elijah, and newborn baby Isaac. This is the house we left then. (Notice those tall green things in the background...trees. Aren't they pretty?) Add two and a half years to everyone's age, plus another baby, and it feels like deja vu all over again!

We are going from 3400 square feet to 1740. I think if we took our house and cut out the playroom, upstairs TV room, guest bedroom and bathroom, all the walk-in-closets and the garage, we'd be getting close to the size of our new place. This makes me happy. Besides being a little apprehensive about where we're going to store everything (as mentioned above, we have no garage, no large closets and also no attic space), it is very freeing to get back to the basics. We're not true minimalists yet, but we're closer than before!

The "new" house meets all of our requirements: large (ish) yard, 4 bedrooms, open living area, one level, and a tolerable street name. OK, that last one is my personal requirement, which Adam has always gotten a kick out of. What can I say, I think a street name says a lot about a home. On top of all that, it's in Allandale, a neighborhood we fell in love with a long time ago.

We're all quite busy sorting through toys and packing everything away. Honeybee comes into town on Tuesday, just in time to lend a helping hand. This is our last week in our Round Rock house! The process of moving is NOT fun, but we are so excited to be in this new house soon!
