competition

E: I'm fast! I'm a fast swimmer, and I'm a fast runner. But I'm not as fast as Samuel.

S: Yeah. You'll never be as fast as me. I'll always be faster.

Me: Well, as long as you're kids, that's probably true, because Samuel's bigger. But when you're both grown-ups, we don't know who will be faster. And you know what? It won't matter then because you two won't be as competitive with each other when you're adults.

S (with a mischevious gleam in his eye): Oh yes, Mom, we will. Don't you worry about that.

Definitely sounds like Adam's sons! We're sort of "adults" now and competition still means a lot to both of us!
